From the pages of Bella Grace
The book of Psalms has been a source of comfort for me during the most challenging years of my life. When my brother was murdered in 2012 I first sought solace in the Psalms. Receiving a promise from God from a very specific psalm that his killer who had fled the state would be found and brought to justice. This promise was fulfilled, and he was found guilty and sentenced to eighteen to life.
When my mother died four years later of a brain aneurysm I once again sought comfort in the Psalms. During moments of intense grief, when I could barely formulate a thought I could read a psalm. Focusing on reading one psalm a day with no other objective allowed me the grace to take the next step or do the next thing required.
Four years after the death of my mother I once again found myself reading the Psalms after the unexpected death of my youngest sister who died of blood clots. The challenges of the pandemic shutdown added to an already difficult time. The amount of grief I felt was tremendous coupled with the isolation of hardly any social interaction after the funeral caused me to go further into the Psalms for comfort.
I encourage you to read the Psalms and be blessed.
